What is Internal Medicine?
Doctors of Internal Medicine, or Internists, focus on adult medicine and have had special study and training focusing on the prevention and treatment of adult health and disease management
Internists often act as the primary care physician for adults; however, their training and education is more extensive and specialized than most Family Practice physicians. At least three of their seven or more years of medical school and post graduate training are dedicated to learning how to prevent, diagnose, and treat ailments and diseases that affect adults.
Why Does Aviva Staff Internists?
In todayís environment of high volume clinics, multiple specialists, and limited doctor-patient interaction, Internists are unique in their approach to medicine. They take pride in caring for their patientís complete medical needs. Internists are specifically trained to solve complex diagnostic problems, can handle severe chronic illnesses and issues, and can help patients focus on diseases prevention and management. When other medical specialists are involved, they coordinate the patientís care and manage difficult medical problems associated with that care.
This approach is in line with Avivaís focus on providing quality medical care and creating a high customer service experience for our patients.
